The Harry Potter Magic Spell Contest Winners

July 31st was Harry Potter's birthday (as well as the birthday of his creator, J.K. Rowling.) In celebration of the big day Booker T. Worm and Kidsreads.com wanted to give Harry something really special. So, we waved our wands and came up with: The Harry Potter Magic Spell Contest!! 

We asked all the witches and wizards in the Kidsreads audience to come up with special spells for Harry's birthday.

We got a ton of emails, letters and even some Howlers!

Now, in anticipation of the Harry Potter movie --- which opens November 16th --- we bring you the winners of the contest.

This spell lets Harry change bodies for 5 minutes to see what life is like for the other person. Then he can get a good idea of what they are feeling and thinking. This can help him with bad guys and when his friends are upset.

The Never Sick Always Healthy Spell

Wake up and turn in three circles. Jump up and down once then blink three times. Say "I'm never sick always healthy today" three times! When Harry does this, he is guaranteed to be happy and healthy all day long!

My spell is the Languageosia spell.

Harry decides what animal you would like to talk to. Then he says Languaro Paningam and the name of the animal. Harry taps his throat once with his wand.  (ex:  Owl Languaro Paningam) 
This spell wears off after an hour but can be redone.

This spell renders any creature harmless. Harry can use the spell in any of his classes or in the wild---mostly to be used on Hagrid’s creatures!!!!

The Do It At A Distance Charm

Harry, point your wand at the object or in the direction of the object.
Then say "Come Hitherus!" This will bring the object towards you.
To send the object where you want it to go, say "Go Thitherus!"
This is a very useful charm when you are being lazy or when you are in bed and don't want to get up to get a book or whatever.

To do this spell, Harry points his wand at his heart and says "CARDIO DESIRIO!". This spell will give Harry his deepest desire.
