He Talks to the Animals...Again

Following the 1998 hit film Dr. Dolittle, which made $290 million worldwide, Eddie Murphy is hitting the big screen again in the title role in Dr. Dolittle 2, the new feature from 20th-Century Fox that opens in theaters June 22nd. Voice talent in the movie includes actors Lisa Kudrow, Norm Macdonald, Steve Zahn, Michael, Rapaport, Andy Dick, Frankie Muniz, and Mandy Moore, all taking on animal personalities.

Unlike the first movie, which was rated PG-13, the new film is PG-rated. This time out, several animals ask Dr. Dolittle to help them save their natural habitat --- the forest, which has been condemned to be torn down by a development company. Doc and his dog Lucky concoct a plan they think will do the trick. It involves pairing up a city-slicker circus-performing bear named Archie with a forest-dwelling bear called Ava. Will it work? You'll have to see the movie, or read the tie-in novel to find out. And why not check out the classic original books about Dr. Dolittle, written by Hugh Lofting? Whatever you choose, we hope you have a great time.

There's lots of fun and craziness leading up to a dramatic point where Dr. Dolittle is called on to save a tiger. You'll want to know how this story turns out.
