A NOTE FROM BOOKER

Hello!

I am excited that Valentine's Day is this coming Wednesday, February 14th. I love making and getting Valentines, don't you? My niece's class at school will be having a Valentine's Day party on the 14th. All the worm kids are making special mailboxes out of cereal boxes. They are covering them with paper and decorating them with hearts and Cupids. The classroom has a special shelf for all the decorated boxes. Her teacher is letting them make Valentines in class and put them in each other's mailboxes. On the 14th, the worm kids will all open their Valentines during their party. Then the teacher will gather the worm kids around her, and she will read some Valentine stories to the kids. My sister Faye Belle will bring cupcakes and punch for the worm kids to eat while they listen to the stories.

Do you like Valentine's Day? You might want to check out our feature about Valentine's Day and read some books about the holiday. You could even ask your teacher to read some Valentine books to your class! To see the great books we found, click here.

Any of these books would make a nice Valentine's Day gift for someone. In fact, books always make great gifts for anyone on any day!

Now, on to more news for this week...

Poems from fellow Bookworms
the days were warm in meadowvill the days were long and beautiful. the flowers bloomed the bees hummed merrily and then I awake from my dream to the cold winter air and I am sad. I read my favorite book and I then smile.now I am in that wonderland I hear the bees buzzing but this time it is not a dream.

If only,
If only,
The woodpeckers sighs.
If only,
If only,
He murmurs and closes his eyes.
If only,
If only,
If only,
If only,
The bark on the tree was a little bit softer.

FALL
ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT
WITH THE FULL MOON SHINING BRIGHT
DEATH IN THE GRAVEYARD AROUND ALL NIGHT

FALL
FALL IS A BIG BALL
ALWAYS BOUNCING UP AND DOWN
LEAVES FLYING ALL AROUND

Twinkle,Twinkle Little Dream
Oh how bright Oh how you beam
Right in my memory you pass by fantasies
Standing right there with the 3 good Angels

Twinkle,Twinkle Little Dream
How I wonder what you mean
up above in my head so tight
and I tell you that my words are too light

Twinkle,Twinkle Little Dream
Maybe you would like some tea steam
Cause you're soft and fluffy and good
You make my day and make my night
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Dream
My thoughts and goals are like a memory
Through thick and thin you told me what I need to do
And then I think i'll keep this poem in my head

This Old House
I once saw a house,
It was old,
It was as quiet as a mouse,
It was cold,
There was a louse,
Made out of mold!
