A NOTE FROM BOOKER

Hello!

I have an older sister named Faye Belle. She loves to read a lot, too. She also loves to do crafts and to make neat decorations, clothing, wall hangings, and other pretty things. She is very talented, and everyone here looks forward to receiving one of her handmade crafts. She and her daughter, Page Marker, love to do crafts together. They have painted sweatshirts that they wear on cold days. They decided to paint pictures of their favorite book characters all over the sweatshirts.  Everyone can see what books they loved to read.

This week, Faye Belle and Page Marker decided to have an after-school party at their house for the kids in Page's class. All of the kids are bringing new tennis shoes with them. At the party, they will decorate their shoes with paint, glitter, beads, flowers, buttons, and anything else they can find to put on the shoes. On Monday, they will all wear their decorated shoes to school as a celebration that spring is finally here. Page Marker promised to make a decorated pair of shoes for me so I can wear them to work. She said they will be a surprise, but she asked me what my favorite flowers and vegetables were. She knows I love to garden, so I bet she will make me a pair of shoes with a gardening theme. I can hardly wait to see them!

Do you like to do crafts like Faye Belle? We have come great craft book reviews here. March is National Craft Month, so we wanted to make sure we had some good books for you to read about. To see the reviews, click here. I bet you can get some wonderful book ideas from those.

Poems from fellow Bookworms

Flower, Flower

Little flower how you bloom
You have power in a tune
Smells as good as vanilla
Being sweet as sarsaparilla
You come in the spring
To the bees you sing
You give people a bling
And shine like a ring
AND THEN AUTUMN COMES
And yet it devours the beautiful flowers
But you'll come back soon

Kindness is away for helping people for anything.
You should always be kind.
This is a poem for anybody that is being mean
JUST REMEMBER TO BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER

Note from Booker: Do you have a great read that you'd like to tell others about? If so, drop me a note about it at BookerTWorm@aol.com and maybe you'll see it posted in the next newsletter!

My favorite book is Gentle Ben. Have you read that book before?

I think your newsletter needs to have more color to attract more people to read your news letter, the color would grab people's attention and then they might read all of it. You need to advertise your newsletter more on the Internet, at schools and at public places.

I like to read a lot.  Sometimes I read in my desk in school!  You should let people write summaries to you guys.  I've been reading a series of books called The Boxcar Children, have you heard of them?

* * * * *

I just wanted to say that I love to read. My mom says I am a bookworm. I love to get curled up with a good book and read till the end. My favorite book right now is Out of the Dust by: Karen Hesse. I also like Bridge to Terabithia. These books made me cry. I hope you like books as much as I do Booker T. Worm. I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee books so much that I could just be pulled right into the story.
Note from Booker: For more about Karen Hesse, click here.

I love read and write I like most books but if a teacher or someone tells me to read a book they chose and don't like that it just makes the book not fun.

* * * * *

I enjoy reading a lot of his books especially Wayside School is Falling Down and I hope you write back and tell me about other books that are on Kidsreads.com.  See ya later. I hope the worms enjoy their weekend with you.

I love reading and writing. I think this web page is great for kids to be shocked by the books you can read. Reading gives me a curious feeling about what happens next.

Okay...my class just finished the novel titled Midnight Fox! By Betsy Byars. I really enjoyed reading this because of all the vivid descriptions given in it! It is about this boy named Tommy and he has to go to his aunt and uncles farm for 2 months because his parents have to go to England. He really doesn't want to go though. But when he is there he encounters a fox and keeps an eye out for her the whole time there! He makes several encounters with her throughout the book though. I would recommend this book 2 any1!!!!!!!!

Hey, I was just checking through your newsletter, I see that you haven't anything on the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Over all it was pretty good.

I've always enjoyed visiting www.kidsreads.com/harrypotter. I think I've read every single paragraph. I've printed lots (or maybe tons) of things from there. This is the best website I've ever been to.
Note from Booker: Thanks! We're so glad you like our special Harry Potter area!

I read a really cool book called "Stonewords" It was about a girl named Zoe that was friends with a ghost named Zoe Louise. I always had to stop to summarize what I just read. There is also a sequel called "Zoe Rising." They are really cool and kind of scary! They are the coolest books I have ever read!!!!
I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good book to read!

Booker and fellow readers,
I would like to tell you about my favorite authors. Their names are Mary Downing Hahn, and Sharon Creech. I have experienced many of each of their books, including (Mary Downing Hahn) "Wait Till Helen Comes", "Stepping on the Cracks," "Following My Own Footsteps," and "As Ever, Gordy."& Sharon Creech ("Absolutely Normal Chaos" and "Walk Two Moons"). All of these books are my absolute favorite, but Absolutely Normal Chaos and Wait Till Helen Comes are the best!  They both have soooooo much detail and I never put down the 200 some odd page book for a long time!  I would recommend all of these books to anyone who is dying for a good read!
Note from Booker: Read more about Sharon Creech in our Authors area.

I was just writing you to say how much I love your site it rocks and I also wanted to say that my mom also thinks your site is really cool...

I also think that it is very stupid that lawyers are getting mad over little fan websites. All it could do is promote Harry Potter, which is a good thing, and like someone said in the last newsletter, at least we aren't selling anything, so they shouldn't get upset. We are completely innocent of crimes, unless they call quoting the book plagiarism, which I don't think is true.

Note from Booker: To read the news story about Warner Bros. trying to shut down some Harry Potter websites, click here.
