A NOTE FROM BOOKER

Hello!

I have had a really busy week! My next door neighbors, the Reader family, decided to surprise their daughter Artherine with a new puppy. They asked me to hide him at my house until they were ready to give him to her. He was so cute! He was black with white spots on his ears. His tail was black with brown spots. I had fun with the puppy, but he sure was a handful! The puppy wanted to chew up my slippers, my shoes, my chair legs, and everything else he could find. He jumped up in my bed and chewed up my pillow. He didn't want to sleep at night, so he yipped and barked at every sound he heard. He wanted to play, so he kept jumping up on me while I was trying to sleep. Her parents quickly realized that the puppy would have to go to puppy school to learn how to behave better. Artherine named her puppy Spot, because of his white and brown spots on him. So, starting this Saturday, Spot will go with Artherine to dog school. The school will teach them both how to help keep Spot from chewing up things, running away, jumping on people, and all those other dog things that bother people.

I decided to give Artherine a book called PLAYGROUND BULLY that is about another dog who went to dog school. I am sure Spot will be a great student, but in this book, the dog is not a good student. He has all kinds of trouble with the other dogs there. The book is funny, and I bet Artherine will have fun reading it. In fact, if you love dogs, I think you will love it, too.

And now for my news this week...

Dr. Dolittle
So how many of you are going to see Dr. Dolittle 2 this weekend? I'm really happy that this movie is rated PG instead of PG-13! Atlantis
Have you seen the movie Atlantis yet? Even if you haven't, you really should check out the movie tie-in books and other titles about the myth that we have featured for you.

HOW TIA LOLA CAME TO STAY
This book is about Miguel and his sister Juanita, who are faced with their parents getting a divorce and then moving from New York City to a new home in Vermont. Now they have to face the fact that their Tia (that's "aunt" in Spanish) is coming to stay with them. You'll need to read HOW TIA LOLA CAME TO STAY to see how Miguel and Juanita learn about the importance of family ties.

ROWAN OF RIN
Emily Rodda has woven a tale of intrigue, suspense and fantasy, and she has even managed to create the female characters in the story with just as much strength and courage as the males!  ROWAN OF RIN will attract readers for its never ending adventure and characters who defy stereotypes.

What Anna found in the Library book

What Anna found in a library book
Was because she took a peek and look
And opened the page to have some fun
From one to four fifty, the last page was done
And because for reading she had such a yearn,
Guess what she found? A little book worm
With little glasses for better to see
Because they read all century
Green and fat, he hopped right out
Feeding on books, fat novels, and pop-outs
Anna was surprised, very much so
To see a bookworm (at least one she didn't know)
And what did the little worm with plate in hand say?
In the corner of the little "libraree-aye"
"I excuse you for interrupting my reading and feasting,
But thanks for opening this book...and reading!"
So come to your library and take a look
For YOU might find what Anna did in her book

Together
People Judge, and people hurt.
People label, and people cry,
and then  they wonder why,
the world is mean to them.
What about me?
Can't you see?
You arent the only one who's hurting.
We gotta stick together,
be friends forever,
never let each other come to any harm,
I got your back,
you got mine,
'Cuz friend, together, we feel fine.
But when we are apart
the world has no heart,
and we can't deny,
our friendship will never die

* * * * *

Takes my tears:
You left me standing the rain, crying again
with the tears my eyes, i will finally realize,
you dont need me anymore,
you moved on, you dont live dont live next door.
and, well, it makes me cry,
to think friendship could die.
but you moved on, you dont need me anymore,
to help when you are sore,
to make the pain go away,
to be there when you need a hand,
and we promised eachother
we would never hurt the other,
until death do us part, friend you know,
that changed, to popularity,
that whole scene,
just wasnt for me,
so we drifted apart,
and though it broke me heart,
the kill was so much cleaner when i just stopped wanting to believe,
wanting to breathe,
there is a better place,
and well, you tried your best when we were friends,
but the lure of the in-crowd,
it drew you in,
did it ever occur to you, i wanted in?
so i hung your around sister,
just to be near,
the friend who broke my heart,
the one who was so dear,
but now your gone,
left me standing in the rain,
i am crying again,
it takes my tears for me to realize,
you left me standing in the rain,
with my pain,
yet again, and
for the final time.

Schools Over
(yahooo)
Yesterday was my first day off!
I slept in, ate alot of food, and had fun.
And did I say I went over my friends house (cough cough)
We went swimming in the sun!
Jumped on the trampolean,  ate at Mc.Donalds, and saw a movie!
It was a very good one,
but I felt a little woozzy,
After that we went back to there "crib"
We played until dinner,
And we ate spair ribs
When I dreamed I was the winner,
of tomorrows basketball game!

Cello

I pick it up off the ground,
With the bow in my hand,
I start to play notes,
Not the notes on the page,
The notes in the air,
That you smell,
That you taste,
In the air as you play,
Not the notes on the page.

I can tell as I play,
That this means something new,
Something new, new and beautiful,
Sounding today,
There are notes in the air,
That you see,
That you touch,
They are sounding today,
Not the notes on the page.

Catherine Dee's book, The Girls' Book Of Wisdom is great. It's full of quotes and is very inspirational. It has quotes about everything from spirituality to sports and courage. It's a great book that I think all girls should read. It's full of other people's thoughts and concepts about life and stuff. I loved it! The thing is, you can read it over and over. Every time you read it you find something new, like something you looked over the time before.
Kathy Davis, I've only purchased 1 of her books, Friend's are Flowers that never fade and it is wonderful. It's like a journal that you fill out for your friend. I recently bought it for my best friend and I think it is great. It is filled with many sweet and heart warming poems and quotes. It is also wonderfully illustrated, I was very impressed that she wrote AND illustrated the book! It was wonderful. :)

I'm a follower of the Shinto religion, the major Japanese religion. Because I live here in America (and never lived in Japan), I am commonly ... made fun of because of my religion. I just wanted to tell everyone out there: IGNORE IT! I've got nearly four of my thirteen years of life ignoring jokes about the Shinto religion, and survived. There is nothing that should be able to break you!! --A Bookworm Newsletter reader

I was wondering if you could post some of my favorite books of all time on the Bookworm Newsletter Mailbag section as great books to read for other interested readers this summer. They are as follows:

1. The Secret Garden
~A mysterious, powerful, and touching novel about a young girl named Mary Lennox who transforms from a sickly, selfish little girl into a caring, cheerful one through the means of a secret garden and something she discovers called Magic. An extremely powerful read.

2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
~The 3rd book in the ever-so-popular Harry Potter series, this book will amaze you even more. Filled with humor, suspense, dialogue, and plenty of action, you definitely don't want to miss out on the 3rd year of young wizard Harry Potter at his school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A compelling read.

3. Heidi
~An extremely touching and inspiring story about Heidi, a young girl who is the very embodiment of good, hope, and joy, and she never fails to bring those wonderful feelings to those around her who aren't that fortunate. A great story of love and hate, hope and despair, joy and misery. If you like a good classic, this story is for you.

I Really like to read, I want to be a writer when I grow up. My favorite author is J. R. R.  Tolkien. I think he writes the best books my favorite two are The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings. They are really good books even thought they have wired character like: the old willow, the daughter of the river, and towns with wired names like: The Lonely Mountain, and Great worms. The book even has a glossary and maps so you can find where you are in on the map or what a word means in the book. Plus it's not one of those books that only have like Twenty pages with a pitcher taking up every other one. So however is reads this you should go to the librey and get these book if you like adventure.
