PRIVACY
ON KIDSREADS.COM
Kidsreads.com (Bookworm on AOL) understands and shares families' concerns about kids' safety and privacy online. We collect information from kids only as is necessary to make their participation in an activity on our site possible and safe. We NEVER sell or share this information with other companies, and we will not share it with other visitors to the site without parents' permission. We also NEVER use this information to sell or market other companies' products to a child.
Why does Kidsreads.com collect information from kids?
We collect information from kids only as is necessary to make their participation in an activity on our site possible and safe. For example, we ask for kids' email addresses if they wish to receive our newsletter. Kids do not need to register or provide us with any information before visiting the site. Kids can come as often as they wish and never have to provide us with any personal information if they choose not to. However, to protect kids' privacy and safety, we do ask kids to register if they wish to use message boards or chat rooms. This allows us to confirm parental consent for these activities. It also allows kids to create a user name by which they can be identified on the site without revealing any personal information.
How does Kidsreads.com collect information from kids?
We collect information mainly by asking for it directly. We also use cookies, as a means of measuring the number of visitors to the site. However, we do not use cookies to track any other information about you, nor do we share this information with anyone else. If you wish, you may set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are sent.
