Tell us about a book that you just could not stop reading because it was soooooooooo good!

I loved Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech!

The book I just finished reading was great. It was funny and scary. The name of this book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff. I just read it to my nephew.

My mother bade me good night, and she left the room. Instead of sleeping, I read. Some of the books I just could not put down were Midnight for Charlie Bone, In the Hand of the Goddess, The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady, The Landry News, and The School Story. After every chapter, I felt like I was about to fall out of my bed I was so thrilled. Not only that, but I felt like I was inside each book, rooting for the hero or heroine.

I wouldn't be able to live without HARRY POTTER!!! I mean, I read the books every night!! I have read all the books like a million times!! I am way too excited about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which is coming out June 21, 2003! I bet you didn't know that it comes out on the first day of summer! Almost two years since Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! It's even 1/3 larger than the fourth book! What an epic!! Oh, and don't forget that the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD is out!!! I know I'll have my copy. How about you?

My Mother Got Married by Barbara Park.

One book I just could not stop reading was the Harry Potter series. The adventure and excitement just kept growing every time you flipped the page. Especially when Harry, Ron and Hermione are joking around and then a clue appears of an answer to something. My favorite book was the third one, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because it's not too dull, it's not too scary, it's not too short, it's not too long, and because it gives a new meaning to exciting!

The book I cannot stop reading is the Lemony Snicket books.

* * * * *

It was Little Bear.

* * * * *

Melanie Martin Goes Dutch is a really good book!

* * * * *

A book I read and couldn't put down was King's Swift Rider by Mollie Hunter. It is a war story between Scotland and England. I could NOT put it down --- a great read to the very end!

* * * * *

I wanted to read the book Holes before the movie came out. I read that book in less than six days with 50 chapters and 233 pages. I wanted to read that book until Stanley was 70. I wish Louis Sachar would write more Holes books.

The book I really love is Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. It is about a teenage girl who lives in medieval times and all the things she encounters, such as Ogres, Evil stepsisters, Giants, and fairies. This book will keep you reading forever and yearning for more! I highly recommend it! You won't be able to take your eyes off it!

I really like the Phyllis Reynolds Naylor series with the boys versus girls family feud, and I think you should put a quiz on this series in the trivia section.

* * * * *

The Boxcar Children

I couldn't put down a book called Warriors into the Wild by Erin Hunter. It was about four cat clans that strive to live in the wild. They battle for more land, and then a friendly Kittypet (a humans cat) named Rusty comes into the ThunderClan and tries to pull together all four clans. In the book, Rusty's name changes to Firepaw when he's an apprentice and then to Fireheart as a warrior. He tries hard to survive with the clans, and doesn't miss his old home or friends a lot. This book brings you into the adventures as the cats race along the forest floor. I highly recommend this book to you if you like cats, or adventure.

The books that I can't stop reading are the books in the Harry Potter series and the Royal Diaries series.

* * * * *

The book I couldn't stop reading was Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. It was the best book ever.

* * * * *

Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio, Ruby Holler, Dave at Night, The Two Princesses of Bamarre, and more!

* * * * *

Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird and Stephen King's Dreamcatcher … these two books are very good.

* * * * *

The Harry Potter series was so great and fascinating that I just couldn't put down. It takes you away like you're in the book for real.

* * * * *

Actually there are a couple. Here is my list with the book and the author:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
All four of them were written by J.K. Rowling.

Holes by Louis Sachar

But after those five books, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the book that, when I start reading it, I cannot put down!

I just couldn't stop reading one of the Misty of Chincoteague books called Stormy, Misty's Foal. And when I finished it, the computers at my school (at school when you finish a book, you can take an accelerated reader test to get points and reach your goal) were down, so I have to wait until tomorrow to take the test. I hope I can remember the answers. I don't really want to reread the book … OK, maybe I do.

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. I was up from 11:00 PM until 2:30 AM!!!

Most Jerry Spinelli books are good too.

* * * * *

Let's Party by Megan Stine (a book from the Two of a Kind series) is the best book ever!

* * * * *

I loved three books by Jacqueline Wilson: Girls In Love, Girls Under Pressure, and Girls Out Late.

I have also started watching the Girls In Love TV series on CITV!

I thoroughly enjoy reading the Harry Potter books as well!

But, my favorite book ever is called Summer Dreams, Winter Love by Mary Francis Shura and I would recommend it to anyone.

I could not stop reading A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm on the fourth book called The Wide Window. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I am if you get to read it.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton was unbelievable. I love it so much. I literally could not put it down. My 7th grade English teacher required us to read it this year, and one night I came home and our TV wasn't working. I was so mad but then I realized I had a book to read that didn't thrill me much but it would do. I went upstairs to get my book and started to read it. I didn't have dinner until 10:00 p.m. and my mother had to write a note to my other teachers saying how I didn't do my homework because I spent the whole night reading!

* * * * *

I could not tell you just one book that I couldn't stop reading because of suspension, breathtaking moments, curiosity, or just plain ol' enjoyment. There were many books that I have read like that, such as all of the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the two Artemis Fowl books, Tuck Everlasting, The Magician's Nephew, and Number the Stars and The Giver, both by Lois Lowry. I also like a couple of Cynthia DeFelice's books such as Weasel. And last year in school, my favorite book that I read was Poppy by Avi. After we finished the book, I went to the library and took out other books in that series. One last series of books that really hooked me was The Baby-sitter's Club books. But now I think I'm a little old for them.

So, I guess I'm an easy person to get hooked into a book, but only if it is fantasy or some kind of fiction. I even like a couple of historical fiction books, such as the Dear America series.

One book that I'm currently reading right now is The Giver by Lois Lowry. It's really good!

Back to top.
