What is your all-time favorite movie that was based on a book? Tell us ONLY ONE!

The Secret Garden

* * * * *

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

* * * * *

I think Holes was a great movie. It was so funny. I especially like the part when Stanley carries Zero up the mountain.

* * * * *

The Lord of the Rings

* * * * *

Holes, definitely.

* * * * *

My favorite movie that is based on a book is Barbie: The Nutcracker.

* * * * *

I would say Harry Potter because that is the BEST BEST BEST book of ALL TIME, but I am really disappointed in the movies. The acting isn't that great and the characters aren't believable.

So...

HOLES IS THE BEST! I loved the book and I absolutely adore the movie. At first I was really upset because they didn't make Stanley fat, but then I looked at the special features of the DVD and they said that having a fat Stanley just wouldn't work, so now I think that movie is 100% perfect!!!

* * * * *

Harry Potter all the way!!!

* * * * *

Black Beauty

* * * * *

I would definitely choose The Lord of the Rings. It was an amazing trilogy, and Peter Jackson made the trilogy an amazing movie!

* * * * *

The Princess Bride

* * * * *

The Cat in the Hat, because it is so cool and funny.

* * * * *

Gone with the Wind

* * * * *

Anne of Green Gables

* * * * *

The Black Stallion. I think that The Black Stallion was magnificent!! If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, I'm giving you advice and asking you to read it or watch the movie.

* * * * *

Harry Potter, of course. J.K Rowling has such a beautiful imagination to come up with such a spectacular series! She has definitely inspired me to be more creative while writing stories. She is a very powerful author.

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie based on a book was Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers.

* * * * *

The Cat in the Hat

* * * * *

I thought the movie Holes was excellent. It was very true to the book. The characters were just as I had imagined them while reading the story a few years ago.

* * * * *

I am fascinated with Disney's Cinderella, especially the little chubby mice they created for the movie.

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie that was based on a book is Holes. I think that it is both a really good book and movie. Even though the movie skipped a lot of parts, and yes, the book and movie have a lot of different parts, it is still good, plus the characters were really good.

Stone Fox

* * * * *

I cannot chose between "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" or "Holes."

* * * * *

My favorite movie that was based on a book is "Freaky Friday." The actors are incredible, and the movie is very funny.

* * * * *

The Princess Diaries. I love both the book and the movie.

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie that was a book first is (obviously) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie that was based on a book is absolutely all of the Harry Potter movies! I love Harry Potter and read all the books that there are so far. I can't wait to see the other movies when they come out, too!

* * * * *

The Little House on the Prairie series

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie that was based on a book is Holes. I love it so much because they work hard, and it is funny.

* * * * *

The Princess Diaries

* * * * *

To Kill A Mockingbird

* * * * *

I love "The Lord of the Rings" --- it was an awesome book and movie!

* * * * *

My favorite movie based on a book is "The Young Black Stallion" because I LOVE horses!

* * * * *

My favorite movie was The Lord of the Ring series. I loved the books but the movies were great.

* * * * *

It would have to be Holes for me!

* * * * *

The Lord of the Rings was an awesome movie series, based on the bestselling epic trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien. The movies were a lot better than the books, for the books dragged on and on, especially the third book, THE RETURN OF THE KING. The movies also stuck pretty close to the books considering the length of them, except in the last movie. All in all, I must say, the trilogy was one of the best in filming history!!!

* * * * *

Harry Potter definitely didn't lose any of its magic in bringing it from books to the big screen. The director, Mr. Columbus, did an excellent job bringing the books to life. He is a wizard in filming, for he had every one of his movies stick extremely close to the books. With all of the special effects and the marvelous acting, Harry Potter has no problem being on the top of the lists for superb movies!!!

* * * * *

My all-time favorite books are The Lord of the Rings series. So, as you can imagine, when there began to be movies about the books I was thrilled. I have genuinely enjoyed watching the words come to life in the epic movie events.

* * * * *

Holes, because the book is awesome!!!

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie based on a book would have to be Harry Potter, because it is so much like the book and the book was really good.

* * * * *

I think the best movie that is based on a book is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. That is an awesome movie!!!

* * * * *

My favorite movie that was based on a book is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

* * * * *

Holes is the best because it's so exciting.

* * * * *

Holes was the coolest ever. We read the book in class and then we went on a field trip to see it.

* * * * *

Even though I ALWAYS like the book better than the movie, I would have to say my favorite movie based on a book was The Mighty, based on the Rodman Philbrick books Max the Mighty and Freak the Mighty. I would also like to recommend to everyone to read the Redwall series!

* * * * *

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King!!!

* * * * *

At the moment I would have to say The Lord of the Rings, because they are awesome and so well made.

* * * * *

So far the best movie I've seen that was originally based on a book was Holes.

* * * * *

The Color Purple

* * * * *

The Outsiders

* * * * *

My all-time favorite movie that was based on a book is J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
