While visiting Scotland, three American kids find a sinister card game with the innocuous name "Patience." The game calls up an ancient map; when the map is altered, the world changes. The map's owner is more sinister than the game --- the wizard Michael Scot, who is bent on changing the map to mold the world as he wishes.
