When Imani's parents begin going through a difficult period, Imani's mother packs up her two children and drives to Los Angeles. Initially Imani is resentful and plans on running back to her father as soon as her mother stops the car. But as the drive goes along, Imani learns a whole lot about her mother, family love and the unhappy decisions adults often make.
