Lady of Ch'iao Kuo, or Princess Redbird as she was sometimes called, lived in an exotic part of China known as the Great Forest. It was a beautiful area filled with colorful birds and plants and peaceful rivers. However, the people of Southern China were anything but peaceful. Wars between kingdoms happened constantly, and the Hsien tribe that Redbird's family belonged to were always under attack from their bitter enemy, the vicious Dog Head tribe.
Redbird was shocked by the cruel and terrible murders of her father and their neighbors as the Dog Heads continued to terrorize Southern China. She called upon "The Five Clans" who had magical powers that destroyed many of the Dog Head tribe. When the war finally ended, Princess Redbird helped to create a lasting peace between all the tribes. Her wisdom and strength were a sign of the kind of leadership she would someday provide to Southern China.
