Can you believe this? Josh and Beth are in love! They're holding hands, sending sappy notes to each other with hugs and kisses on them, and generally making everybody else sick. But Caroline, who doesn't like not being the center of attention, and who really needs to learn what love feels like so she can be a great actress someday, decides that she needs to fall in love with somebody too. And guess who she picks? Poor Wally!
Caroline hounds him unmercifully. And the more he protests that he doesn't even like her, the more convinced she becomes that he really does love her. He's almost pulling out his hair with frustration. When she gives him the sappiest Valentine you can imagine, he runs out the door and thrusts it at the first person he sees, who happens to be Jake. Jake logically thinks that Caroline gave the Valentine to him. This little fourth-grader! So he hand-delivers a note back that begins "Dear Ugly Stupid," --- and gets lots worse after that.
Beth thinks Josh sent that note. Caroline thinks Wally sent it. When Caroline decides to do something about it, she comes up with the dirtiest trick yet involving some raspberry syrup, a plea to 911, the police, an ambulance --- and some very angry parents. Where will it end?
