Ten-year-old Nick really knows how to waste time. And he likes nothing better than to waste the time of his fifth-grade English teacher, Mrs. Granger. In one of his finest plans, Nick decides to invent a brand new word. He convinces all of his classmates to replace the word pen with the word "frindle." Soon everyone is following along and Mrs. Granger faces a situation she never expected.
