Author Daniel Pennac has helped me see the world from a dog's point of view. This book is filled with colorful characters, both human and animal. You will love Black Nose, the tough dog at the garbage dump, who takes Dog under her wings. She teaches him skills that he will need to survive in a cruel world.

When Black Nose leaves his life, Dog sets out into the world to find himself an owner. He soon learns that humans are unpredictable and difficult to read. His first attempts to find an owner do not go according to plan. Just as Dog thinks he may have found the perfect master, a dogcatcher spies him. How will he ever get out of this mess?

A spoiled and headstrong little girl named Plum enters Dog's life. She, along with her parents, Mrs. Squeak and Mr. Muscle, take Dog in. The transition period is difficult, especially for Dog, who doesn't feel like he belongs. Owning a dog is more work than they bargained for.

Will Dog ever find out if Plum loves him? Will she be the owner of his dreams? It will take a traumatic experience and a journey of many miles for Dog to find out.

If you love dogs and would like to see the world through their eyes, you need to read DOG.
