THE SPIRIT GLASS: A Book of Magically Hidden Images
by Justin Heimberg
Seven Footer Press
Games & Activities
ISBN: 9781934734490
Ages 8-up
32 pages

“You have been granted the power of the Spirit Glass, an ancient magical artifact that allows its owner to see the hidden things of the world. Things meant to remain unseen: ghosts, phantoms, spirits, specters and other terrors from the Great Beyond.”

With the power of the Spirit Glass, unseen worlds and hidden words are revealed! Written by Justin Heimberg and designed by Junko Miyakoshi, THE SPIRIT GLASS is a fun and unique book of messages only shown with the included MagicView lens. Place the lens over particular spots on the pages to uncover ghosts and spirits and phantom words. Though not related to Heimberg's other recent publication, GHOSTS OF ROCKVILLE, this book does share the same MagicView technology and paranormal subject.

Mostly rhyming riddles coupled with spooky pictures, THE SPIRIT GLASS doesn't tell a story but is sure to enthrall young readers nonetheless as they gaze into crystal balls, empty picture frames, and the windows of a haunted house to try to see with the Spirit Glass what is not visible to the naked eye.

The MagicView Spirit Glass is pretty cool, though it can be tricky to focus and may require some adult help to find all the elusive images. Overall, this is an entertaining and imaginative puzzle book.
