Singing Sensation, Book 39

Geronimo adores good music, but he mostly listens to it. However, his friend, Champ Strongpaws, just happens to overhear Geronimo singing away in the shower. Before you can say "do re mi," Champ informs him that he has entered Geronimo in the “Music Island Idol” singing contest. Poor Geronimo! He is not only super-busy, but he is mortified at the very idea of performing on TV. Nevertheless, he soon finds himself being coached by Champ for the contest --- and that's not easy. We're talking early morning cold showers, ballet lessons, and truly challenging music-related classes at the Mouse Island School of Performing Arts.

But Champ is just getting started with Geronimo's musical career. He hauls his friend to a record studio where Geronimo is "inspired" (in other words, Champ stamps on his tail) to bellow. The studio executives are so impressed with Geronimo's new-found range that our hero is soon cutting a CD. As the tale continues, Geronimo and readers learn about the music biz: who is involved when a singer lands a CD deal, typical music star "looks" to aspire to, and much more. As if that isn't exciting enough, Geronimo also ends up in a dangerous hunt for a thief called the Musical Pirate, making this yet another enjoyable meld of adventure and interesting facts.
