About the Book
The Wild, Wild West, Book 21
Geronimo and his family are crossing the Arizona desert when they find a Wild West town called Cactus City. They gear up, saddle up, and gallop until they find rooms for rent. Geronimo goes into the saloon, and before you can say "cheese," big rough Mick Muscle tries to pick a fight with him. Geronimo keeps narrowly avoiding a fight with him, but finally Mick challenges Geronimo to a gunfight! Before that can happen, Geronimo accidentally beats him in a fight --- to everyone's amazement (especially Geronimo's!).
Wicked Whiskers, a bully dressed as a sheriff, rides into town and starts throwing his weight around. Wicked Whiskers challenges Geronimo to a rodeo match, and the winner will have to tame the creature called Bessie. Gulp! First, though, Geronimo and his family need to hit the trail for three days to reach the ranch of Wicked Whiskers. Will Geronimo survive being a cowrat? And if he does, will he survive meeting a beast the likes of which he's never seen? You'll find out in THE WILD, WILD WEST, which is also chock-full of facts about the west, song lyrics, and even a recipe for black bean soup.
