In 1944, during World War II, Molly McIntire and her family try to
keep everything running smoothly at home while Molly's father is away
in England, helping to care for wounded soldiers. It's not that easy
to do with two pesky brothers (Ricky and Brad) and an older sister
who is always acting like a grown up. But Molly makes the best of
things --- even if it means eating yucky vegetables from the family's
backyard Victory Garden.
