Andrew Dubble --- Andrew is a creative and imaginative 10 year-old boy. He has been inventing things ever since he was 4. His first invention was called the Whoops Eraser. It was supposed to get rid of stains, but it also made the things that had the stains disappear. His other invention, the Picker Upper, picked up spills but then leaked them out again.
Judy Dubble --- Judy is Andrew's 13 year-old cousin who has certainly had an adventurous life so far. She has been on four safaris to Africa and she has a helicopter in her backyard. But the amazing part is that she knows how to fly it!
The Atom Sucker --- This is Andrew's latest invention. It is as big as a doghouse and looks like a porcupine. Skinny copper tubes poke out all over it and a fat iron pipe sticks out from the front. Andrew thinks that this new machine can shrink an object by sucking the space out of its atoms.
Uncle Al --- Alfred Dubble is Andrew and Judy's uncle. He works at a top-secret laboratory and no one knows what he really does there. He is smart, friendly and willing to help when he can. Andrew and Judy love him very much.
Thudd --- Thudd stands for The Handy Ultra-Digital Detective. Uncle Al gave this little silver robot to Andrew on his seventh birthday. Thudd can tell Andrew everything. But Uncle Al warned Andrew of two very important things about Thudd: Andrew must never wash Thudd and he cannot keep Thudd in the dark.
Mrs. Scuttle --- Mrs. Scuttle is Judy's next-door neighbor. She yells a lot and doesn't seem to like many things. She doesn't like Judy's family because they're too different and she considers Andrew to be a whole lot of trouble. Mrs. Scuttle isn't even nice to her own dog, Harley.
Harley --- Harley is a basset hound who loves spending time with Judy. She throws Harley Frisbees and buys him chew toys. They are very close friends.
The Water Bug --- a Volkswagen Beetle that has been turned into a submarine by Uncle Al. It has a glass floor, a sharky fin on its roof, a bathroom in the backseat, fishy gills on its doors --- and it changes color to disguise itself. This latest invention by Uncle Al takes Andrew and Judy on the ride of their lives!
Soggy Bob Sloggins --- This bad guy is building Animal Universe, the biggest theme park in the world. But he doesn't care at all about the animals. Instead, he's determined to steal all the giant squid in the ocean and turn them into snacks! Andrew and Judy want to do everything in their power to stop this man from committing any more dastardly deeds.
The Time-A-Tron --- a time travel machine invented by Uncle Al; it looks like a giant cooking timer.
Doctor Kron-Tox --- This mysterious doctor has invented a time machine of his own called the Tick-Tox Box, which he uses to kidnap Uncle Al.
Beeper Jones --- Doctor Kron-Tox's nephew. He's in charge of collecting insects and spiders for his uncle's theme park of prehistoric animals.
Jeremy Bogart --- Nicknamed "Germy Booger," Jeremy is an annoying kid who goes to school with Andrew and Judy. He claims that the world has been waiting for his invention, which is called the Excuse-O-Matic.
The Goa Constrictor --- Andrew's newest invention, which is short for Garbage Goes Away. It is a giant snake that squashes garbage down to microscopic size. Unfortunately for Andrew, Judy and Thudd, the Goa can shrink anything --- and anyone --- instantly.
