Ooooh, is there anything better than snuggling down with a nicely ghastly ghost story? Maybe just one thing: settling in with a whole series of heebie-jeebie-inspiring books. The MOSTLY GHOSTLY series celebrates friendship between Max, and brother and sister Nicky and Tara. Max has it tough: his dad wants to send him to boarding school to toughen him up, his brother is a horrible bully, and Max is neither cool nor popular.
Wait a minute! Max thinks HE has problems?! Nicky and Tara realize they're ghosts when they find Max and his family living in their house. Naturally, they're terrified! They can't even remember how they died and they have no idea what's become of their parents.
Max's life is soooo much better when Nicky and Tara decide to help him out (or is it? Some of their "help" doesn't turn out so great!). In return, Max agrees to help the siblings find out what happened to them and to their parents. This leads Max into all kinds of creepy situations, like encounters with the evil ghost Phears, who wants to catch Nicky and Tara in the very worst way.
The first book in the series, WHO LET THE GHOSTS OUT?, sets the spooky, frightening, and funny tone of the books. It also establishes the friendship between Max and the ghost brother and sister. But can that friendship hold up under Phears's frightening attacks on Max, and his insistence that Max surrender Nicky and Tara to him?
Ooooh, you are going to love being scared to death!
