THE ROYAL DIARIES Series by Scholastic

THE ROYAL DIARIES, based on the lives of real princesses and other royalty, was the first of Scholastic's Dear America collections to shift it's focus beyond the United States. Among the diaries featured are those of teenage girls from England, France, Russia, and Angola who played an important role in their country's history. Recreating the true stories of actual people requires additional research to assure that the diaries present an accurate portrait of these teenagers' hopes, fears, and dreams as well as depicting the events that affected them during their lifetime. Readers from ages 9 - 12 can learn about life in another century and another culture from the THE ROYAL DIARIES Series on these historic women.

Three other series make up the Scholastic collections: DEAR AMERICA, the original group of diaries featuring fictional young girls of various time periods; MY NAME IS AMERICA, adventure based-journals for boys; and MY AMERICA, diaries for young readers.
