Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Fans of Star Wars just can’t get enough of that galaxy far, far away. That’s one of the reasons why Lucasfilm developed an animated television series focusing on the events of the pivotal Clone Wars that helped shape the career, and eventual downfall, of Anakin Skywalker. During the summer of 2008, the creators of Star Wars kick-started the launch of the program with an animated feature film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which itself sparked a whole range of books designed to appeal to the epic’s younger set. The movie was a box office hit, and the books are likely to be just as popular.
The books inspired by Star Wars: The Clone Wars focus primarily on the working relationship between Anakin, who is a young, ambitious Jedi Knight, and his apprentice, a skilled but impulsive Padawan named Ahsoka Tano. Their missions take them throughout the galaxy, where they encounter many familiar characters, meet new enemies and tackle dire dangers. Encounters between Separatist droids and Republic clones are common but deadly, and loyalties old and new will be tested before the end of this tense, action-packed adventure. The books in this series include chapter books, easy-to-read fiction, picture books, scrapbooks, activity books --- and even a kit that puts you in a clone trooper’s mask! The movie and the books it inspired are bringing the Star Wars universe to young readers like never before.
