Joanna Campbell, the creator of the Thoroughbred Series, has loved horses all of her life. She wrote the first 14 books in the series, plus 2 Super Editions as well as STAR OF SHADOWBROOK FARM and BATTLECRY FOREVER!, which were included in the "Ashleigh's Classics" collection. In 1996, she decided to focus on writing adult novels and let other writers take over writing all future Thoroughbred books. There are now several authors involved in continuing this popular series, which numbers over 50 and still bears the name of it's creator.
Joanna Campbell was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, with her three younger brothers. When she was a child, she owned her own horse, Moe, a chestnut part Quarter Horse. In her early twenties, she took open jumping lessons and competed in cross-country point-to-points. Ms. Campbell also became an accomplished classic pianist and vocalist and has performed professionally. Still an avid horse fan, she now lives in Camden, Maine with her husband.
