Goosebumps Horrorland #18: Slappy New Year!

SLAPPY NEW YEAR! brings us back to the Chiller House gift shop, the scariest and most fun place in the world.

There are amazing things available for sale there --- things that you can use to frighten your brothers and sisters, especially if they’re real-life scaredy-cats. Take Ray Gordon, for instance. He loves to scare his little brother Brandon, who is petrified by just about anything --- from roller coasters to things that go bump in the night. Especially terrifying to him is Ray’s gift from the Horrorland gift shop, a ventriloquist’s dummy named Slappy.

It’s New Year’s Eve, and Ray wants to throw a huge party. But his parents will only let him if he promises to stop harassing Brandon. Throughout the night, though, horrible things keep happening to Brandon when only Slappy is around to witness them. Now the answer to “Did you think Slappy here was talking?”, a question Ray is constantly asking Brandon, seems to have a new answer --- YES! Is it possible that somehow Ray has infused this wooden menace with actual life?

Like every Goosebumps book, there is no way to escape the frightening unrealities of these HorrorLand happenings. As always, read at your own risk! And put your wooden soldiers in a box in the closet --- you just don’t know when the next Slappy attack is going to happen!
