The Day the Universe Exploded My Head: Poems to Take You into Space and Back Again

written by Allan Wolf with illustrations by Anna Raff

Would you like to be able to learn about the universe and about poetry at the same time? Now you can with THE DAY THE UNIVERSE EXPLODED MY HEAD, a wonderfully creative, beautifully illustrated, information-filled book.

"A wonderfully creative, beautifully illustrated, information-filled book."

Author Allan Wolf and illustrator Anna Raff teamed up to create a book of poems about the universe. The text is filled with tons of trivia and information about our solar system, as well as about other aspects of the universe. Learn something about each planet, the sun, the moon, black holes, meteorites, shooting stars, astronomical units and much more. While you’re soaking up all the facts, feast your eyes on the delightfully illustrated pages created by Raff.

As if all that weren’t enough, the author has included two pages at the end of the book that give more information about each poem that he wrote. He also uses those pages to explain some technical (but interesting) information about different types of poems.

All this, in one book! But wait: there’s more. There is also a Glossary of Selected Space Terms and a list of Internet Resources where readers can find more information about our amazing universe.

This is truly a delightful book that would make a positive addition to anyone’s library. Read, look, think, dream and enjoy.
